Biography

Alim Smith is a Delaware-based interdisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, printmaking, and visual

storytelling. He is known for bold, rhythmic images rooted in Afrosurrealism and Black cultural expression. His

album artwork for Mac Miller's *Balloonerism* earned him a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Recording

Package. Smith's work has also received a Clio Award and appeared in international exhibitions, press, and

film festivals.

Artist Statement

Smith's practice treats rhythm as method and image as philosophy. Each work operates like a visual beat -

bridging intuition, humor, and memory. Through painting, printmaking, and performance, he redefines Black

creativity as both structure and improvisation.
